Overview

Frota Advisor is an app born out of a real pain point: during breakdowns and emergencies, truck drivers and carriers struggled to find reliable service providers — and even without confidence in who they were hiring, they needed someone quickly to minimize vehicle downtime. The opportunity was identified during COMJOVEM and developed within Tgid.

I led the end-to-end design process — from user research and problem definition to prototyping and testing — delivering a functional MVP. At the official launch at a logistics event, the product garnered 100 sign-ups.

The problem

Truck drivers and carriers face difficulties in finding reliable service providers when unexpected problems arise on the road.

The main challenges identified were:

• Lack of reliable information about service providers
• Reliance on informal referrals (WhatsApp, gas stations, personal contacts)
• Risk of excessive pricing and low-quality services
High cost of downtime (R$3,000 to R$5,000 per incident)
• Manual processes that are not easily scalable

Main insights

Based on interviews with users, several patterns became clear:

• The search for service providers is reactive and urgent
• Trust is the most important deciding factor
• WhatsApp groups are the primary means of communication today
• Carriers operate using makeshift processes
• Service providers rely on referrals and informal networks

Opportunity

Turn informal demand for road transportation services into an agile, trust-based ecosystem, connecting service providers and customers with maximum efficiency.

The solution

Frota Advisor was designed as a simple product focused on the essentials:

• Search for service providers by region
• Filters by service type and specialty
• Profiles with reviews and ratings
• Direct contact via WhatsApp or phone call
• Review and reporting system
• Curation for service provider approval

The strategy for the MVP was to avoid complexity, delivering an efficient, reliable, and high-impact product.

Retrospect

Launched at CONET&Intersindical 2025, the product generated immediate interest from service providers and carriers, with 100 sign-ups out of 400 attendees, confirming that the problem is both recurring and relevant.

Frota Advisor demonstrated that there is a real opportunity to transform an informal and risky process into a reliable and efficient digital experience.
